Process for developing NDC

This NDC was developed through a “whole-of-government-and-society” approach. This NDC is said to uphold the meaningful participation of women, children, youth, the LGBTQ community, the disabled, indigenous peoples, the elderly, civil society, faith-based organizations, and the private sector.

Description of Monitoring and/or Implementation Mechanism

There are legal frameworks mentioned that the NDC is based on, such as the Climate Change Act of 2009, the National Framework Strategy on Climate Change 2010-2022, and the National Climate Action Plan 2011-2028. The NDC is also said to consider the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022, the Philippine Energy Plan 2018-2040, the National Climate Risk Management Framework of 2019 and the Sustainable Finance Policy framework of 2020.
