Process for developing NDC 

There was a broad participatory process to develop this NDC. Stakeholder consultations were conducted through an inter-ministerial working group and steering committee composed of representatives from relevant sectoral agencies, academia, and the private sector. Many plans were cited in the development of the NDC, notably the National and Economic and Social Development Plan 2017-2021, the Climate Change Master Plan B.E. 2558-2593 (2015-2020), and various plans for the energy and industry sectors.

Description of Monitoring and/or Implementation Mechanism 

Thailand’s NDC will be implemented through the NDC Roadmap on Mitigation 2021-2030, the NDC Sectoral Action Plans and the NDC Supportive Action Plan. All were thoroughly consulted through public participation processes at national and local levels.

Summary of gender reference 

No gender-related key words were found, but there is a strong focus on the implementation of Thailand’s national adaptation plan, participatory approaches and the integration of climate change into the national development strategy.

Process for developing NDC 

Thailand's NDC was developed through a participatory process. Stakeholder consultations were conducted through the establishment of an inter-ministerial working group and steering committee comprising representatives from relevant sectoral agencies, academia and private sector. In addition, three national consultations were held during the technical analysis phase. Thailand's NDC was formulated based on the following plans already approved or in the pipeline for approval by the Cabinet.
