Collaborators

  • NAP Global Network

The NAP Global Network and the GCT collaborate to ensure the Network’s gender analyses of National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) are featured on the GCT’s country profiles and resources. The NAP Global Network supports developing countries to advance their NAP processes to help accelerate climate change adaptation efforts around the world and has developed a bevy of knowledge products to support this work. Check out their resources on gender and NAPs, also searchable within the GCT resources, and  find out more about the NAP Global Network’s process for and value of the gender analyses in the first GCT webinar, Gender Climate Tracker: A Tool for Your Advocacy!

  • Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD)

APWLD and the GCT have collaborated to highlight their use of Feminist Participatory Action Research to examine Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in seven Asia-Pacific countries: Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan and Nepal. This work, collected as Undisputed Lived Realities: Feminist Stories in Their Resistance Against Climate Emergencies, is featured on the GCT country profiles and resources as an important complement to the GCT analyses of gender in the NDCs, which are based only on the NDC documents themselves and not the experiences of communities. APWLD is the leading network of feminist organizations and individual activists in Asia and the Pacific, actively working towards advancing women’s human rights and Development Justice.

  • Out4Sustainability

Out for Sustainability and the GCT collaborate to highlight their key resources on LGBTQIA+ and climate issues through the GCT resources. OUT for Sustainability provides a platform for co-creating climate resilience and environmental justice by and for LGBTQIA+ communities. They do this through advocacy, training, fundraising, and relationship-building. More recently, Out4Sustainability was a speaker at the Gender Climate Tracker: A Tool on Your Road to COP28 webinar in October 2023.

  • Institute for Transportation & Development Policy

ITDP and the GCT collaborate to highlight their key resources on transport, gender, and environment/climate to the GCT resources, with a specific focus on Indonesia. ITDP is a global organization at the forefront of innovation, using technical expertise, direct advocacy, and policy guidance to mitigate the impacts of climate change, improve air quality, and support prosperous, sustainable, and equitable cities.

  • Women & Gender Constituency

The Women and Gender Constituency (WGC) and the GCT collaborate to support informed advocacy for the WGC, for example by providing key information to UNFCCC Focal Points concerning women’s participation on their delegations. Furthermore, under resources (accessible only on the GCT website), users can find the more than 150 Gender Just Climate Solutions (GJCS) that have been highlighted in the annual WGC GJCS Awards publications from 2015 through 2022. These solutions are being implemented in over 80 countries.
