Le contexte pertinent 

Cette NDC actualisée de trois pages n'est qu'une communication de huit points actualisés à ajouter à la première NDC. Les trois points saillants sont les suivants: :

1 : Mettre en avant et continuer à propager un mode de vie sain et durable basé sur des traditions et des valeurs de conservation et de modération, y compris par le biais d'un mouvement de masse pour "LIFE" - "Lifestyle for Environment" - comme clé de la lutte contre le changement climatique.

2 : Réduire l'intensité des émissions de son PIB de 45 % d'ici à 2030, par rapport au niveau de 2005.

3 : Atteindre une capacité cumulée de production d'électricité d'environ 50 % à partir de ressources énergétiques autres que les combustibles fossiles d'ici à 2030, avec l'aide de transferts de technologies et de financements internationaux à faible coût, notamment du Fonds vert pour le climat (FVC).

L'objectif à long terme de l'Inde est de parvenir à une émission nette nulle d'ici 2070. Il est resté inchangé par rapport à la première CDN.

Bien qu'il n'y ait aucune référence au genre dans cette CDN actualisée, l'Inde mentionne spécifiquement qu'"aucune modification des autres sections ou du texte ou autre du document contenant la première CDN existante n'est proposée à ce stade", et la première CDN contient une référence au genre.

Description du suivi et/ou le mechanisme de la mise en œuvre 

Le plan d’action national sur le changement climatique (PANCC) présente les mesures requises. À ce jour, le PANCC est mis en œuvre à travers huit missions nationales établissant les priorités en termes d’adaptation au changement climatique et d’atténuation de ses effets. Les grandes initiatives stratégiques du gouvernement sont appuyées par les efforts des administrations des États, des organisations non gouvernementales, du secteur privé et des autres parties prenantes. Au total, 32 États et territoires de l’Union ont mis en place le plan d’action local sur les changements climatiques (SAPCC) afin d’incorporer les questions liées au changement climatique dans leur processus de planification. 

Résumé de la référence à la dimension de genre 

Les contributions de l’Inde tiennent compte de son engagement en faveur de la conservation de la nature, mais aussi des pressions concurrentes exercées sur les ressources, afin d’apporter une réponse aux questions liées, entre autres, à l’égalité des genres et à l’autonomisation des femmes.

Le rapport sur les CDN comprend la section suivante : « Contributions des citoyens et du secteur privé à la lutte contre le changement climatique ». Dans le volet d’atténuation des CDN, les citoyens indiens sont considérés comme faisant partie intégrante des programmes nationaux de lutte contre le changement climatique.
